JDSU Hosting the 40 inch Mirror

The 40 inch primary mirror for the new telescope was delivered to JDSU in Santa Rosa today.  You can see in the photo that the team learned that all this time we should have had a forklift to move the mirror around – doh!!  The JDSU team moved it safely into the house and we are now waiting for a call from them to let us know when it will be coated. I can’t express how EXCITED we are and grateful to JDSU for donating their premier work for this telescope which will be used to bring the night sky to our community for many years to come!
