Azimuth Drive in the, er, Flesh

After measuring twice and cutting once, as promised, I got to assemble the Azimuth Drive assembly. Servo and BBAstro drive box on the left. Shiny cylinder plus red in the middle is next, the  jaw coupler linking the shaft from the drive box to the shaft extension. That now carries the wheel which is affixed to the shaft with the custom bushings we had machined and the Trantorque Mini devices. And, on the right, a small flange bearing.

There’s nothing like seeing something built that you’ve been drawing for months. Plus the smell of machine oil is intoxicating when you are in the right mood. I was in the right mood!
